While the new updates will supposedly going to bring new features & functioanlity to the Apple devices. Recently as per the new report claims that there are some iPhones devices and iPads that will not be going to get this updaate because of their processor capability. iOS 17 and iPadOS 17: supposed list of eligible (and ineligible) devices

According to a new report by MacRumors, Apple might provide the latest iOS 17 update to those has received the iOS 16 update. This means that the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X will not goint to recieve the latest update of iOS 17. This also means that the devices launched after the said iPhones will be eligible for the iOS 17 update. Here’s the list of eligible iPhones might be going to get update :

  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro series
  • iPhone 12 series
  • iPhone 12 Pro series
  • iPhone 13 series
  • iPhone 13 Pro series
  • iPhone 14 series

And for iPads, as per reports a few iPad models might won’t receive upcoming iPadOS 17 update. If you are using the first-generation iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch, or the iPad (fifth generation). Chances are that your device won’t be going to get the latest iPadOS 17 update.

Conclusion

The report stated that Apple will offer some “nice to have” iOS features with new upcoming update.That is more or less denies the previous rumours, which claimed that the update will be a mere incremental update and will focus primarily on stability and efficiency. It remains to be seen whether the new report actually is true or not, but chances of these devices missing out on the upcoming update seem to be highly likely.
